Does the Pepper Pad have any special requirements? 
The Pepper is designed for consumers with Wi-Fi and a broadband connection to the Internet, and we highly recommend both. However, the Pepper does not require broadband and can communicate with any 802.11b- or 802.11g-compatible access point. The Pepper does require a Wi-Fi connection and broadband.
What is Wi-Fi? 
Wi-Fi, short for wireless fidelity, refers to any type of 802.11 network that provides a high speed data connection without the use of Ethernet cables.
How much does Wi-Fi cost? 
Once you have either a broadband or a dial-up connection, there is no additional monthly cost for Wi-Fi, but you do need to attach an access point to your connection.
What is an access point? 
An access point is a low-cost device used with either a broadband or a dial-up connection to provide Wi-Fi (wireless) access for other devices such as the Pepper, media adaptors, and laptop computers.
How much does an access point cost? 
Access point devices are available in a wide range of prices, from less than $20 to $300 or more.
What is a Wi-Fi hotspot? 
Some airports, coffee shops, libraries and hotels have access points that are set up to provide a Wi-Fi connection to the public. These areas are referred to as "hotspots." In some hotspots, access to the Wi-Fi connection is free. In others, you have to pay for access.
How can I use a Pepper Pad if I only have a wired (Ethernet) connection to the Internet? 
You need to purchase a Wi-Fi access point.
I know that I need an Access Point, but do I need a wireless card or adaptor for my Pepper? 
No, the Pepper Pad is equipped with 802.11b and is ready to connect to an access point.
Does the Pepper Pad work with 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g,802.11n or WiMAX
networks? 
The Pepper communicates only with 802.11b and 802.11g networks.
Can I run Windows applications on a Pepper Pad? 
The Pepper supports only applications specifically designed for it. A wide variety of applications are available at http://store.pepper.com.
Can I run Palm OS applications on a Pepper Pad? 
The Pepper supports only applications specifically designed for it. A wide variety of applications are available at http://store.pepper.com.
Can I run standard Linux or Java applications on a Pepper? 
The Pepper supports only applications specifically designed for it. Commercial partners who want to run additional applications should contact Pepper Computer using the form at www.pepper.com/company/contact.html. On the form, choose Business Development as your "Area of interest."
What applications are included with the Pepper Pad? 
The Pepper Pad comes with the following applications already installed and ready for your favorite online activities:
- Web Browser

- Internet Radio
- Games
Can I view MS Office and PDF files on a Pepper Pad? 
In our current release, you can not view PDF or MS Office files on a Pepper Pad but we plan to add these features in the near future.
Can I synchronize my Outlook address book with my Pepper Pad? 
At this time, you cannot do this.
Does the Pepper Pad have hand writing recognition? 
No. To provide a reliable user experience, the Pepper Pad includes full split QWERTY key pads.
Can I attach a full-sized keyboard to a Pepper Pad? 
Yes. You can use a wireless Bluetooth keyboard or connect a regular keyboard via the USB port.
Can I attach a DVD player to a Pepper Pad? 
At this time, we do not support connecting a DVD player to the Pepper Pad because the USB port is not fast enough for a DVD drive.
Can I attach a CD player to a Pepper Pad? 
Yes. You can attach one via the USB port.
Can I use AOL, MSN, Yahoo, or ICQ Instant Messaging on a Pepper? 
At the moment, you can use only AOL Instant Messaging, but other IM services will be available later. See the product documentation for instructions on setting up AIM on your Pepper Pad.
How much disk space is there on my Pepper Pad? 
The Pepper Pad has 20 GB disk drive – so there is plenty of room to store music, photo, video files.
What is the battery life on the Pepper Pad? 
Once the battery is charged, it holds the charge for approximately 2-3 hours of use.
How much does the Pepper Pad weigh? 
Lightweight and portable, the Pepper Pad weighs only 2.3 lbs.
Can I print from the Pepper Pad? 
At this time, printing is not supported from the Pepper Pad, but will be added in the near future.
